He is the devouted husband of Sandi, and the father of Anne Marie. Sandi has four children: Troy, Tracy, Adam and Monica. Through the miracle of God's grace, Dan and Sandi celebrate a family of five children and six grandchildren.

Gary Schroeder

Associate Minister of Church Enrichment

Gary Schroeder comes to his position with a combined 28 years of pastoral experience in two Baptist General Conference churches. His wide-ranging personal and ministry experiences have been used by God to equip Gary for his role as a consultant, pastoral care-giver and friend to pastoral families and churches in our district.

Gary's goal, as he ministers echoes Paul's statement in Col 2:2:

"My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely Christ, in whom is hidden all the treasures of hope and wisdom."

Gary and his wife, Joan, are blessed to have two grown children. Stacy and her husband, Clay, live in South Carolina with their two sons and one daughter. Matthew lives in Toledo, OH, with his wife Cynthia and their son and two daughters.

"I love God, my family, Christ's church, Converge MidAtlantic, the Cubs and golf. I work diligently to keep them in that order."

Michael Henderson

Director of Church Planting

In November of 2009, Pastor Michael Henderson joined our staff to serve as part-time Church Planting Director for Converge MidAtlantic.

Pastor Henderson has planted two churches in our District and helped start up a third church plant as a young leader in Akron, Ohio.

He currently is one of our church planting coordinators, and is serving as the coordinator for our church planting coaches, resourcing them regularly for their coaching ministry with church planters.

Pastor Henderson is the pastor of new Beginnings Church in Charlotte. New Beginnings recently celebrated its 10 year anniversary. The congregation is one of the fastest growing in our entire Converge movement, and is now involving over 2,000 people every weekend.
