The first class of the second SWM was held October 15, 2005, at The First Baptist Church of New Castle.
Forty-seven ladies are registered for the current school. These women are a wonderful representation of our district and beyond. Eighteen MBC churches and fourteen non-MBC churches are represented. Each woman who concludes her assignments will receive certification as a Women’s Ministries Specialist.
Topics included in the course work are:
- Women in Church History
- The foundations of Women’s Ministries
- Leadership Qualifications and Qualities
- Designing Ministries to meet Women’s Needs
- Understanding Today’s Women
- Organizational Principles and Practices
- Spiritual Giftings
- What Christians Believe
- Sharing Truth with Secular People
- Studying Truth: Bible Study Methods
- Teaching and Speaking
The last class of the second SWM was held on May 5, 2007, at First Baptist Church of New Castle, Pa. Pamela Heim led our on-site specialization unit on “People Helping”. Students had a choice between this track or several other off-site courses including Prayer, Spiritual Formation/Transformation, Missions, or attending the Willow Creek Leadership Summit this August.
Students will now be undertaking their Internships and finishing all assignments to turn in to mentors, preparing for their graduation! Graduation will take place at the MBC Leadership Conference to be held Thursday and Friday, May 15th and 16th at the Cleveland Airport Sheraton Hotel.
